The Week Before.

THE WEEK BEFORE…. We want to connect with the future and that’s the essence of searching for the bright spots of yesterday. Those spots are supposed to remind us of how we did in the past and were successful. Book reading was a natural vocation for us and this covered all genres. These were our golden years of literature and connection with our history and culture.

This is the sole purpose of the AUGUST MEETING. On the 22nd of March, the August Meeting will hold to read and review ON A PLATTER OF GOLD- How Jonathan Won & Lost Nigeria. A first grade eyewitness account of the Jonathan Years. It’s not just about the facts, but the fluidity of the narrative.

At the meeting, the EDUCATION CHAMPIONS LEAGUE will be launched, under the chairmanship of Dakuku Adol-Peterside PhD. DAP, as he is called by his admirers, is himself an acknowledged writer and an avid reader of literature.

As we’ve always said, our mission is to bridge the gaps in quality  interpersonal communication and nation building by promoting the culture of reading and writing among our young ones and all generations.

And this is a community effort and if you like, a duty we owe this and all generations. Just like our patron Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Sir Adokiye Tombomieye FNSE, OON, will be on hand to launch the EDUCATION CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

On hand as the witness to the virtues of reading and writing is Robinson Tombari Sibe PhD, FNSE, CCISO, CCME.

We will be delighted to have all readers, writers and lovers of literature to join us on the 22nd of March at the Unity Hall of the Port Harcourt Club. The time is 10am prompt.
COME ONE, COME ALL.

  1. Bringing back the culture of reading and writing would be a huge benefit to our children and the youths especially at this time, to get them engaged, shifting their minds from cyber crimes and over indulgence in antisocial activities.
I’d be glad to be identified with such noble personalities for this great feat, impacting lives of generations.
