The purpose of the Education Champions League Quiz Competition is to encourage reading, analytical and critical thinking skills among secondary school students.

Based on that, it is strongly recommended that all schools should nominate only those students who can represent them within the context of proper articulation, expression and presentation. The goal is to create even and fair conditions for all test participants.

Who Can Join the Competition ?

Each school must nominate 10 students to be shortlisted in order to participate in the Competition. Only secondary school students between 12-16 years of age are eligible to participate

Who Organises the Competition?

The Organizers of the Competition is the Education Champions League, a non-profit organization registered in Nigeria.

The Competition

The Quiz Competition is created by a team experts. The annual competitions comprises 4 rounds of tests which will be based on a selected text for participants to read, and prepare for the rounds of the competition.

The maximum score an individual student can receive is 10 points which adds up to the schools overall scores for each round. In case of equal scores received by two or more students or two or more schools (both further referred to as Competitor), the winner is determined by a set of speed tests judged by the best time under which the test was completed.

Prizes

Certificates of participation will be given to all participants. However, prizes are strictly for final round competitors. 1st – 3rd runner ups will be presented with prizes ranging from cash gifts, Championship cups, awards and /or infrastructural support in favour of their respective schools. Prizes are non-transferable. The prizes are subject to change based on the discretion of the Organizer of the competition.

Results

For schools, the highest average score is determined by the average result of the participants representing the school. The school with the highest average score wins, however in the case of the same score, the school with faster average completion time for a set of speed tests wins. Each school wishing to participate thus needs to nominate 10 students to be shortlisted to 5 participants for the qualifier round. Results for each round will be announced immediately after the completion of the round of tests.

Closing

The rules/ terms and conditions are subject to change and/or updated, if necessary. In case of any amendments made to the rules, and terms and conditions, all the participating schools will be notified by e-mail.
